David Rose
Founder of Triente. A former Fortune 500 SVP, McKinsey Associate Partner, and AWS Principal, with three decades in strategy, data science, and technology. Based in Fort Collins, CO.
Background
I founded Triente in 2012 on one conviction. The larger a decision and the harder it is to reverse, the sharper the analysis behind it has to be.
Triente is a strategy firm first. We advise clients from mid-market firms to the Fortune 500, along with private equity sponsors and government institutions, on their hardest calls, where the data is messy and the wrong answer is expensive.
What sets us apart is how we reach the answer. We build advanced analytics and AI in-house and pair them with primary research among the executive teams and customers who live the market. The analytics, the market, and a strategy that fits the system behind them are one decision examined three ways. Where they point the same way, I trust the lever; where they diverge, that's the signal to dig. I lead every engagement directly and turn the findings into a single answer that holds up whether a board or an operating team has to act on it.
The toolkit took three decades to build. At Fiserv, a Fortune 500 financial-technology firm, I built a new data business from concept to launch, work that produced four granted U.S. patents. At McKinsey, I was an Associate Partner and Senior Expert in Analytics, advising C-suites and boards in financial services. At AWS, I was a Principal leading worldwide go-to-market for Amazon Q Business partners, which gave me a direct view of how large enterprises evaluate, buy, and deploy AI.
I advanced to doctoral candidacy in system dynamics and mathematics at WPI, with PhD coursework at MIT Sloan. It still shapes how I model markets, as dynamic systems driven by feedback and human behavior. Behavioral economics informs how I read that behavior. Graduate-level study in operations research at Columbia grounds the rest of the method, which I frame as optimization in the operations-research sense. I've published on data and financial services since the mid-2000s, including a chapter in the Harvard Business School volume Business Solutions for the Global Poor, and I served four years on the board of the Center for Financial Services Innovation, now the Financial Health Network.
Previous experience
Across three decades, I have held senior leadership roles in some of the most analytically demanding businesses in the market:
- Fiserv. Senior Vice President, Analytics and Insights, at the Fortune 500 financial-technology firm. Built a new data business from concept to launch, turning transaction data from billions of payments into insight products for thousands of financial institutions. The work produced four U.S. patents.
- McKinsey & Company. Associate Partner and Senior Expert in Analytics, advising C-suites and boards at major financial-services firms on growth strategy, customer economics, pricing, and data monetization.
- Amazon Web Services. Principal, leading worldwide go-to-market for Amazon Q Business partners, working with large enterprises on how they evaluate, buy, and deploy AI in production.
That combination shapes every Triente engagement. I have advised boards and C-suites, led an operating unit inside a regulated industry, and built directly on modern data and AI infrastructure.
